How To Give A Better Massage At Home

Blog

Nothing beats a professional massage at a salon or massage parlor like Spa-66, but when your partner or a friend is short on time or cash, giving them a massage at home can be enjoyable. Here are a few tips to help enhance your at-home massage skills for your partner's enjoyment.

Use a massage oil.

While lotion will do in a pinch (and is what many people turn to when giving massages at home) using real massage oil will really bring the experience to the next level. Massage oil is designed to let the hands glide more smoothly across the muscles. It absorbs into the skin more slowly than lotion, so you won't have to keep re-applying it. For some extra pampering, look for a scented massage oil. Lavender and vanilla are both relaxing, soothing scents that appeal to most people, but if your partner has a favorite scent, you may consider using that for their massage.

Start gently.

One mistake that a lot of amateurs make when giving a massage is applying too much pressure too quickly. This leads to more pain than relaxation. Instead, you need to start softer and give the muscles a change to warm up. For the first five minutes of the massage, focus on using long, gentle strokes to warm up the muscles and increase blood flow. Then, slowly start adding more and more pressure until you're using more of a kneading, pressing action.

Ask your partner for feedback.

Some people are vocal and will tell you right away if something hurts or feels exceptionally good. Others need you to ask them for feedback. If your partner is being silent, ask them to speak up about what feels good. Then, you can focus more on that movement or area. Encourage your partner to use words like "up," "down," and "softer," to direct your hands as you massage them.

Set the mood.

One reason why professional massages are so relaxing is that they take place in a very relaxing, soothing setting. Don't just have your partner plop down on the couch for a massage. Take a few minutes to lay down a clean, soft sheet, light some candles, and put on some soothing music. When your partner is relaxed, their muscles will be more relaxed -- and any massage you give them will feel better.

With the tips above, you'll give your partner such a wonderful massage that they'll be begging you for a repeat session.

Learning About Dying Your Hair At The Salon

Hello, my name is Nina. Welcome to my site about having your hair dyed and styled at the salon. I started going gray at about 30 years of age. As the gray hairs overwhelmed my formerly gorgeous locks, I knew that I needed a quick solution. Unfortunately, the box hair dye products didn't always work well and the results did not last nearly long enough. I started to go to salons to rectify the problem and was instantly hooked. I will use this site to talk about the different dye products and techniques used in the salon. I will also talk about salon styles for your hair.
